CBD Legal & Compliance Notice

This Notice explains the legal and regulatory framework that applies to the CBD ingredient in our products. It is written to comply with UK food law, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) CAP Code, and our own commitment to honest, evidence-based communication.

If anything here is unclear, please email hello@wellnessmethod.co.uk.

1. Our products are food supplements, not medicines

The Wellness Method® blends are sold as food supplements under UK food law. They are not medicines, do not hold a medicinal authorisation, and are not authorised for the prevention, treatment or cure of any disease.

Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, condition, or symptom.

Where you see references on this Site to research, traditional use, or general wellbeing benefits associated with individual ingredients (such as cacao, mushrooms, spices, or matcha), these refer to the published scientific or traditional context of those ingredients in general. They are not claims that our products will produce any specific effect on you.

2. Cold-pressed hemp and UK food law

Our CBD ingredient is cold-pressed hemp. It is produced by mechanical pressing alone — no solvents, no distillation, no isolation, and no enrichment of cannabidiol beyond what occurs naturally in the hemp.

On this basis we treat the ingredient as not a Novel Food under retained EU Regulation 2015/2283. Cold-pressed hemp of this kind has a documented history of human food consumption in the UK and EU before 15 May 1997 — the cut-off date the Regulation uses to determine whether a food is "novel".

Because the ingredient is non-novel, it does not need to appear on, and does not operate under, the Food Standards Agency's public list of CBD products awaiting Novel Food authorisation. That list applies to novel CBD preparations — for example CBD isolates, solvent-based distillates, and CBD-enriched products. It does not apply to traditional cold-pressed hemp.

The ingredient remains subject to general UK food law, including food safety, hygiene, labelling and contaminant rules, and we comply with those obligations in full. We will update this Notice if the FSA's position on cold-pressed hemp changes materially.

3. CBD content and recommended daily intake

The CBD content of each product is stated on the label. Each 5g serving contains 10mg of cold-pressed CBD. Our CBD comes from mechanically cold-pressed hemp, with no solvents or distillation involved.

The FSA's current general advisory (as of the date of this Notice) is that healthy adults should not consume more than 10mg of CBD per day from food. Our serving sits at — and does not exceed — that advisory level. We will reformulate if that advice changes. Always check the on-pack serving instructions and avoid combining multiple CBD-containing products without considering the cumulative daily intake.

4. Who should not use our products

Our products are intended for healthy adults aged 18 and over. Do not use our products if you are under 18; pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding; or allergic to any ingredient listed on pack.

If you take prescription medication or live with a serious medical condition, please consult your GP before use. If you are otherwise unsure whether our products are right for you, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional.

5. How we communicate about CBD

We are committed to honest, evidence-led communication. In line with the ASA CAP Code and FSA guidance on health claims, we do not and will not: claim our products treat, cure, prevent, or alleviate any medical condition; use the words "medicinal", "therapeutic", or any term that implies a medical effect; make any specific health claim that has not been authorised on the GB Nutrition and Health Claims Register; or imply that CBD itself is the active ingredient producing any benefit.

Where we describe traditional or culturally-rooted uses of an ingredient (for example, cacao's heritage in Mesoamerican ritual), we do so as cultural and historical context, not as a claim about what our product will do for you.

If you spot any communication of ours that you believe falls short of these standards, please email hello@wellnessmethod.co.uk. We take compliance seriously and welcome the feedback.

6. Storage

Store unopened products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, use within the timeframe shown on pack and reseal between uses to preserve freshness. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Use by the best-before date shown on pack.

7. Allergens and ingredients

Full ingredient lists, allergen information, and nutritional information are shown on pack and on each product page. Always read the label before consumption. Our products are made in a facility that handles dairy, soya, and tree nuts — please check the on-pack allergen advice if you have specific sensitivities.

8. Updates to this Notice

We will update this Notice as the regulatory landscape for cold-pressed hemp in the UK evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
